Frequent questions

Which vehicle types can the Harmony DC charger support?

Our Harmony Direct chargers support vehicles that use batteries from 200-1000 VDC, including cars, buses, trucks, electric motorbikes, and other special vehicles. The chargers are compatible with vehicles that use CCS-2, CHAdeMO, and GB/T sockets.

What gun type combinations are supported?

Single gun: CCS-2, CHAdeMO, or GBT

Double gun: a choice of any two from CCS-2, CHAdeMO, and GBT. Two of the same type are possible.

Triple gun: Type 2 AC plus a choice of any two from CCS-2, CHAdeMO, and GBT. Two of the same type are possible.

What Charging Management Software (CMS) connectivity is provided?

When enabled, all chargers can connect to a OCPP 1.6J-compatible backend Charging Management Software for remote monitoring and control. Our Harmony DC chargers can connect via Ethernet (RJ45) and 4G modem, while our Spin Pro AC chargers can connect via WiFi (2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11), 4G modem, and Bluetooth.

What uptime can I expect from the chargers?

Our Harmony DC chargers are built to withstand extremely harsh electrical and environmental conditions through carefully crafted quality components and heat management. Because of this, our chargers have demonstrated over 99.9% uptime (time the charger is running versus being under maintenance). With proper maintenance, the chargers’ life expectancy is >12 years.

Can the charger’s power capability be upgraded?

Thanks to their modularity, our DC chargers can be deployed with a low power capability and later upgraded as needed. This helps lower initial deployment costs, and is useful if high power is not immediately required but flexibility to upgrade later is desired.

For example, the 120 kW Harmony Direct can accommodate up to four 30 kW power modules, but could be initially deployed with only 60kW capability via two modules. The charger can then be upgraded to its maximum power capability when necessary by simply adding the extra power modules.
